José Cirilo Nunes
José Cirilo Nunes , fighting name Maubrani , was an East Timorese freedom fighter.
Nunes was a member of the ASDT from 1974, which was later renamed FRETILIN . In the war of independence against Indonesia he was second in command of the national Brigada de Choque in the Centro Leste sector and responsible for Batugade . Nunes was killed in the war. In 2006 Nunes was posthumously awarded the Ordem de Dom Boaventura . His remains were only found in 2012 and buried on August 9, 2019 in Maubara in the Jardim dos Heróis em Liquiçá in the presence of President Francisco Guterres .
