Ordem de Dom Boaventura

The Ordem de Dom Boaventura ( German  Dom Boaventura Order ) is an order of East Timor . It is named after the Timorese prince Dom Boaventura , who led the great rebellion against the Portuguese colonial power in 1912 .

The Ordem de Dom Boaventura is awarded to the combatants of the East Timorese independence movement against the Indonesian occupation (1975-1999) who promoted, organized or led the resistance between August 15, 1975 and May 31, 1976. The order was created together with other awards for veterans with the law 3/2006 "Estatuto dos Combatentes da Libertação Nacional" ( German  statute of fighters of national liberation ).

The order shows a picture of Dom Boaventura and bears the Portuguese inscription "Pela Pátria e pelo Povo" ( German  for fatherland and people ) on the reverse .
