Ali Alkatiri
Ali bin Amude Alkatiri (born November 19, 1945 in Loro Matan , Dili , Portuguese Timor ; † September 15, 2017 in Dili, East Timor ), fighting name Mau Liku , was an East Timorese freedom fighter.
Ali Alkatiri was the eldest brother of the former Prime Minister Marí Bin Amude Alkatiri . The Alkatiri family are the descendants of Arab immigrants from whom Hadramaut came to Timor in the 19th century.
From 1975 he was a member of the Central Committee of FRETILIN (CCF) and took part in the fight against the Indonesian occupation (1975-1999), for which he was awarded the 2006 Ordem de Dom Boaventura .
He died in 2017 in the Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares and was buried in the Muslim cemetery of Taibesi .
