Pulpit of St. Martin (Hillesheim)
The pulpit in the Catholic parish church of St. Martin (built in 1852/53) in Hillesheim , a town in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate , was created in the 17th century.
The wooden pulpit was taken over from the previous building of today's church, which was demolished in 1852. The sound cover , the back wall and the stairs are missing.
Ernst Wackenroder wrote in 1928:
“With an elevated semicircle as the ground plan, it stands on a light, twisted column surrounded by vine leaves through an octahedral dome . On the pulpit itself, wide pilasters filled with cartilage alternate with narrow fields for small figures of the evangelists . "
The pulpit is now used as a lectern .
