The Chancellor Fountain is a fountain in Darmstadt .
History and description
The Chancellor's Fountain is the work of the sculptor Johann Baptist Scholl the Younger . It was made from red sandstone in 1860 . The water-spouting lion heads are cast from bronze .
Monument protection
The public wall fountain, which was formerly connected to the three -well pipe, was originally attached to the house at Alexanderstraße 4 ; the house of Chancellor Kilian von Schwarzenau. After the Second World War , the Chancellor's Fountain was attached to the old city wall. For architectural and city history reasons, the Chancellor's Fountain is a cultural monument .
