Cape Alexandra is the north-western headland of South Georgia . At the western "end" of South Georgia, Cape Alexandra and about 5 km south of it Cape Parjadin mark the westernmost headlands of South Georgia. Cape Parjadin extends around 130 m further to the west than Cape Alexandra.
The British navigator James Cook named the Cape 1775 Cape North , but that name 16 kilometers east-northeast location Cape North . The name that is used today goes back to around 1912. It is named after Alexandra of Denmark (1844–1925), wife of the British monarch Edward VII.
