Cape Burd is a 80 m high and cliff-like cape at the northeast end of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located on the southwestern foothills of the Tabarin Peninsula and limits the entrance to Caleta Valenzuela in the west.
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) mapped it and named it in 1946. It was named after Oliver Richard Burd (1921–1948), a meteorologist for the FIDS, who worked on November 8, 1948 with his colleague Michael Campbell Green (1926–1948) Fire on Base D in Hope Bay .
