Cape Church is a rocky headland on the Bowman Coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It protrudes north of the Ahlmann Glacier into the head end of the Seligman Inlet .
Aerial photographs of the cape were taken in 1940 as part of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out measurements and naming in 1947. It is named after the American glaciologist James Edward Church (1869–1959) from the University of Nevada, Reno , who developed techniques for predicting glacier dynamics that are still used today.
