Cape Irízar is a massive headland at the northern end of Lamplugh Island off the Scott coast of East Antarctic Victoria Land .
Participants of the Discovery Expedition (1901–1904), led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott, discovered the cape . Scott named it after Julián Irízar (1869-1935), captain of the Argentine corvette Uruguay , who had been used to rescue the stranded participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901-1903).
