geography
location
The long neck rises in the eastern Hintertaunus in the Taunus Nature Park . The mountain rises as the last foothill on the eastern high plaice of the Feldberg-Langhals-Pferdskopf-Plaice . Its summit is in the district of Neu-Anspach between the districts of Dorfweil ( Schmitten ) in the west and Neu-Anspach in the northeast. The southern Klingenberg ( 595.5 m ), about 1.75 km away, is a northern branch of the Weisseberg ( 660.2 m ). The Great Oak Forest ( 633.2 m ) is located on the opposite side of the Aubach valley, about 1.5 km away. About 4 km to the west, on the opposite side of the Weiltal , rises the horse's head ( 662.6 m ).
Natural allocation
The long neck belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Taunus (No. 30) and in the main unit Eastern Hintertaunus (302) to the subunit Horse Head Taunus (302.6). To the east, the landscape drops into the subunit Usinger Basin (302.5).

The long neck is completely forested. Beech trees predominate, but oaks and especially spruces are also represented.
Traffic and walking
North past the long-necked direction east-west runs roughly in from the Weiltal at Brombach the country's road to Neu-Anspach 3041. At the pass (about 485 m ) there is a car park for hikers. Starting from here, the mountain can be hiked on forest paths and paths. The Hessenpark open-air museum is located east of the mountain in the Stahlnhainer Grund of the Usinger Basin .
