The Weißenberg near Schmitten in the Hessian Hochtaunuskreis is 660.2 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the eastern Hintertaunus , part of the German low mountain range Taunus .
geography
Geographical location
The Weißenberg is located in the east of the Schmitten district , about 600 meters east of the Hegewiese settlement , in the Taunus Nature Park . It is part of a chain of peaks made up of Kolbenberg , Weisseberg, Fauleberg and Großer Eichwald , which separates the Lauterbach valley from the Aubach valley. The summit chain runs parallel to Landesstraße 2004 (Kanonenstraße), which connects the Sandplacken with Schmitten and the Weiltal .
Natural allocation
The Weißenberg belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Taunus (No. 30) and in the main unit Eastern Hintertaunus (302) to the subunit Pferdskopf-Taunus (302.6).
tourism
The Weißenberg car park is the starting point of a 7.4 km long cross-country ski run around the mountain.
