The Cape Lewald is a cape on the coast of the East Antarctic Kaiser Wilhelm II.-country . It lies between the Posadowskybai and the West Ice Shelf .

It was discovered in February 1902 during the Gauss expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of the German polar explorer Erich von Drygalski . He named it after Theodor Lewald (1860-1947), Ministerialdirektor in the Reichsamt des Interior , who had campaigned for the realization of the research trip .
