The Cape Lockyer is a rocky headland on the south side of the island Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . The cape is 2.5 km northeast of Lambeth Bluff .
Scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions mapped it in 1948 and named it after Lieutenant H. C. J. Lockyer of the Volunteer Reserve Forces of the Royal Australian Navy , officer on board the HMAS Labuan , the rescue ship on this expedition.
