The Cape Moore is a chapter on the Pennell Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is at the eastern end of Tapsell Foreland and marks the northern limit of the entrance to Smith Inlet .
It was discovered in 1841 by the British polar explorer James Clark Ross during his Antarctic expedition (1839–1843). Ross named the cape after Thomas Edward Laws Moore (1817–1872), mate on the expedition ship HMS Terror .
