The Cape Purvis is a cape on the southern branch of Dundee Iceland in the archipelago of Joinville Islands off the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula .
The British polar explorer James Clark Ross discovered the cape in December 1842 during his Antarctic expedition (1839-1843). Ross named it after the future Admiral John Brett Purvis (1787-1857), who helped the expedition.
