Cape Roca is a cape at the western end of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . On the north side of the Mackenzie Peninsula , it is 3 km northwest of Cape Davidson .
It was mapped in 1903 during the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition (1902-1904) under the direction of William Speirs Bruce . Bruce named the cape after Julio Argentino Roca (1843–1914), then President of Argentina .
