Gremersdorf Chapel
The Protestant Chapel Gremersdorf is a chapel in Gremersdorf , a district of the municipality of Gremersdorf-Buchholz in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The church belongs to the parish of Pomerania of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .
location
The Dorfstraße runs through the town as a central connecting axis from west to east. The chapel stands south of this street on a piece of land that is fenced in .
history
The structure was erected in the 1950s and inaugurated in 1954 .
Building description
The structure was essentially built from field stones , which apart from a few corner stones were not hewn and not layered. The rectangular choir is slightly drawn in and can be entered from the east via a rectangular, double-winged door. On the north and south sides there is a simple, upright rectangular window. The gable is also made of field stones; the choir has a simple gable roof .
The ship also has a rectangular floor plan. On the east side there is an upright rectangular window that takes the shape of the choir window. The north and south sides are symmetrical: In the eastern area there is a rectangular wooden door. Three simple rectangular windows were distributed over the remaining facade. The main entrance is in the west. There is another double-leaf door with dark fittings, which can be reached via a staircase with three steps. While the west wall was also built from bricks, the gable is plastered over the entire area . The Christ monogram is placed in the center, above a narrow, high rectangular window.
Above is a small roof turret, which is open except for the east wall, with a bronze bell and a gable roof above.
Furnishing
The church furnishings are simple. On the cafeteria there is a crucifix smaller than life . The inside of the structure is flat covered.
