The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is a listed ( list entry ) chapel in Oberpeischlach , municipality of Kals am Großglockner .

The chapel was built in an exposed position at the entrance to the Kalser Valley . After the French troops marched through, the building of the chapel was vowed, which was subsequently built as a tribute and consecrated in 1799. In 1825 a fire destroyed the chapel, but it was subsequently rebuilt. In 1961 the chapel was renovated.

The outer building of the chapel has a rectangular floor plan with a retracted round arched choir. The gable facade is broken through by a rectangular portal, a small viewing window and an overlying window with a curved outline. In the gable field there is a round arched wall opening, the door frame is labeled "1797". There are two tall rectangular windows in each of the long walls. The walls are structured by painted pilasters with simple profile capitals. The chapel is protected by a steep, shingle-roofed gable roof, and on the entrance side there is also a shingle roof turret with sound holes. The roof turret has an onion dome topped with a ball, cross and weather valve.

The chapel's altar is a wooden, partially gilded tabernacle , which was built around 1760 and, according to tradition, was created in Oberlienz. In the shrine there is a crucifix in front of a halo, next to it two chandelier angels . Above is a statue of St. Florian on the left and a statue of St. Chrysanth on the right . The oval extract , created in 1966, depicts the Visitation of the Virgin.

The chapel is equipped with a Way of the Cross (oil on canvas) and several sculptures.
