Ludwig Baumeister (clergyman)
Ludwig Baumeister MSC (born June 21, 1894 in Dülmen , Germany ; † August 4, 1946 in Shihtsien , China ) was a German religious , missionary and apostolic superior of Shiqian .
Life
Ludwig Baumeister joined the order of the Sacred Heart Missionaries (also known as Hiltrup Missionaries in Germany ). He made his profession on February 20, 1921 and was ordained a priest on August 9, 1927 .
Pope Pius XI appointed him on November 11, 1932 superior of the newly founded Mission sui juris of Shihtsien (Shiqian). With the end of his term of office and the handover of the office to Matthias Buchholz MSC on December 2, 1937, the elevation to the Apostolic Prefecture followed .
