The Apostolic Prefecture Shiqian ( lat. : Apostolica praefectura Shihtsienensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic Apostolic Prefecture based in Shiqian .

history

Pope Pius XI founded the Mission sui juris Shihtsien with the Breve Vicariatus apostolici on March 23, 1932 from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Guiyang . It was elevated to the Apostolic Prefecture with the bull Pusillus christianorum on December 2, 1937 .

In 1999 the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association united the dioceses of Anlong, Guiyang and Shiqian to form the diocese of Guizhou. Since 1987 the secret local ordinary was Augustine Hu Daguo , who died on February 17, 2011.
