Chapel Peter and Paul (2018)

The Peter and Paul Chapel is located in the St. Georgen district of Freiburg .

The chapel was first mentioned in 1353 in the “Liber marcarum”, the church directory of the former diocese of Constance , as a branch church of the Hardkirche, which was the parish church. In 1787 the chapel lost its purpose due to an edict from Emperor Joseph II and was converted into a private residence. The city of Freiburg bought the building in 1967 and renovated it from 1984 to 1986. An event hall with an area of 71.5 m² was created, which is also rented out by the city's “Central Cultural Administration”. From 1986 to 1989 the chapel was the first venue for the Freiburg Galli Theater .

The chapel is designated as a station on the stage of the Way of St. James from Rottenburg am Neckar to Thann in Alsace.
