Funkhaus (East) Berlin

Kapitel Elf is the second album by the German rock music group Keimzeit . The songs were recorded in January and February 1991 at the Funkhaus Berlin. The album was released that same year.

Most of the 12 songs still show the musical roots of the band in the GDR blues rock, especially railway workers and reunion . The lyrics by frontman Norbert Leisegang - sometimes straightforward, sometimes quirky, sometimes extremely poetic - are, as on the debut album Irrenhaus , shaped by reflections in the immediate environment ( I'm sick ) and by love ( Maggie , colors ). After the reunification of Germany , however, Leisegang also managed to take a critical look at the new social conditions ( too little , Reiches Land ). Keimzeit thus underpin - albeit increasingly unintentionally - their status as an identity-creating "Eastern band". Due to the freedom of travel after the opening of the wall, there are further broadened horizons ( Singapore , Amsterdam ). The copywriter is not satisfied with superficial travelogues, but uses the newly discovered places as metaphors to articulate newly acquired wisdom.

In Chapter Eleven is Ralf Benschu (saxophone, flute, clarinet) was first mentioned as a permanent member. He was listed as a guest musician on the debut album Irrenhaus . The great expansion of the band's timbre through his playing is particularly evident in Amsterdam .
