Chaplain Gurtis

The as curate in the district Gurtis (also: Old Schoolhouse) designated Grade II listed house is situated in the municipality of Nenzing in district Bludenz in Vorarlberg ( Austria ). According to the Federal Monuments Office, it should be the oldest primary school building in Vorarlberg. The square building was built between 1834 and 1839 on the basis of plans by the royal court building in Vienna and has two floors with a tent roof and three dormers . The building is unadorned and simple and has a floor plan of about nine meters square . It faces east, right next to the Kuratienkirche Gurtis .

In 1986/1987 the building was rebuilt and the use of the building changed; it now serves as a club house. The upper floor is the Tourist Gurtis.
