action

The US American Zac Connors investigates his grandfather, who disappeared during World War II , and learns with the help of a secretary that he crashed his plane over the Thai jungle in 1945 . At that time he owned a sword that he had wrested from the Japanese during the war. Since then, the Japanese government has been searching for the valuable sword and offering a reward of two million dollars for the finder.

Connors flies to Thailand and, accompanied by a local, goes to the alleged crash site. He actually finds the remains of his grandfather, who was executed by the Japanese two days after the war ended. However, there is no trace of the sword. Shortly thereafter, Connors and his friend are ambushed by a gang of Thai smugglers. Shots are fired and his friend is fatally wounded. Suay, who leads an armed group to fight the bush robbers, rushes to his aid. After the adversaries have been eliminated, Suay decides to take Connors into their militia because he has military training. Together they go to Suays settlement and discover that it has been attacked. Several residents were killed, including Suay's mother.

Zac Connors tells Suay about the missing sword. With the help of a former US soldier who deserted in the Vietnam War and has lived in Thailand ever since, they get to a secret cave where the sword could possibly be. In fact, after a short search, Connors finds the sword in a suitcase. But her companion, the deserter, forces the surrender of the sword by force of arms and wants to collect the reward for it alone. He manages to escape with the sword, but Connors chases after him and finally finds him dead in the ramified cave, which is equipped with deadly traps. Zac Connors and Suay take the sword back and set off on the trip to Phuket. There Connors wants to hand over the sword to a Japanese government representative.

But then the Japanese mafia, the Yakuza , learns of the planned return of the sword and tries to usurp it. The men follow Connors in the car on the street and try to snatch the sword from him. Since they fail, they kidnap Suay and torture her. Back at the hotel, Connors receives a call from the leader, Yamaguchi, who suggests a deal: the girl for the sword. Connors agrees to appear and goes to the property where Suay is being held. He succeeds in switching off the guards and entering the building unnoticed. Finally he can free Suay and defeat Yamaguchi with the 'Sword of Bushidō ' - and kill him.

criticism

“Quite entertaining, sometimes bloody (adventure) action film with a typical 80s flair. Unfortunately, the action scenes are a bit rare over the entire running time, so that the film seems rather lengthy. The action scenes, however, are nicely done and the staging and actors are also quite appealing. Worth a look for B-Action fans, everyone else should avoid the film. Certainly not a milestone, but enough for a snack in between ... "

background
