Marcella Berger (* 1954 in Brücken ) is a German writer . She lives and works in Saarbrücken .

Life

After graduating from high school in Kusel in 1972, Marcella Berger studied German , philosophy and social studies in Saarbrücken. The intensive preoccupation with fairy tales , myths and questions of humanistic psychology led to numerous radio works in the field of education and upbringing and to the first publications. The book Fairy Tales Solve Life Crises - Depth Psychological Approaches to the World of Fairy Tales , which has so far seen 3 new editions, emerged from an extremely successful school radio series . All Berger publications on this topic have appeared under the name Schäfer since his marriage to Werner Schäfer (1977) . Since 1992, Berger has published fiction texts again under her maiden name. In 1987, Berger (Schäfer) founded the Saarbrücken literature office with Dirk Bubel and Annette Keinhorst as a contact and advice point for authors and a place for intensive textual discussions.

Act

Diamond cutting was a widespread craft in Berger's birthplace, Brücken. The Berger family also ran such a business. The sensual experience of transforming an inconspicuous gray-brown raw material into a light-twinkling treasure is an early and formative experience for Marcella Berger. This trace remains manifest in Berger's artistic work. Everyday objects and processes are charged with motifs and at the same time moved into the sphere of dream and surreality. In 1992 the long poem heller mittag - a triptych in the volume Passagen - Neue Texte , edited by Sabine Göttel and others, was published. The feature writer of the Saarbrücker Zeitung Burkhard Baltzer wrote: "Marcella Berger's literature crosses borders ... it is texts whose poetry one follows." The literary scholar Katja refers to Berger's language games, which are also inspired by pop literature , and the originality of her texts Leonhardt in Female Writing in Regional Structures , and the reviewer Ruth Rousselange in the Saarbrücker Zeitung wrote: “ Berger writes amusing, sarcastic, subtle, draws characters with fine lines, also always melodious in her prose. “The sound, the musicality inherent in the lyrics is also emphasized by the publicist Susanne Hecht when she writes:“ These episodes come about like the prose to Paolo Conte's love songs. In brightly lit shots with depth of field, the protagonists move through an atmospherically dense room and become unmistakable and lively thanks to their specific timbre. “The author is“ very close to her characters, describes thoughts, dreams and errors. These precise descriptions, these different perspectives of vulnerability and misunderstandings deserve to be read. "
