Karel Eichler

Karel Eichler (born January 13, 1845 in Großmeseritsch ; † April 25, 1918 in Brno ) was a priest of the Roman Catholic Church, musician and writer. In his works he mainly devoted himself to descriptions of places and musicology.

Life

He comes from a middle-class family of a Grützer . After finishing secondary school in Polička , he studied at the German grammar school in Brno. He was ordained a priest in 1870 and then worked in the parish in Hovorany , Kurdějov and Hodonín . He later studied canon law at the Roman institute Anima. Between 1874 and 1880 he worked as a professor of the history of faith and canon law at the Bohoslovecký ustav in Brno. During this time he also edited the magazine Hlas (The Voice). His other place of activity was from 1880 the parish in Veverská Bítýška . Here he wrote most of his works.
