Karel Vokáč

Karel Vokáč (born October 28, 1903 in Zbiroh , † July 12, 1944 in Prague ) was a Czech poet and writer.

Vokac was mainly concerned with meditative poetry. In addition, he edited the student magazine Vlastní silou (By own strength) and was the editor of the monthly magazine Mladé Rokycansko (Young Rokitzan). During the Second World War he was active in the resistance movement. In 1944 he was executed by the Nazis in Pankrác prison.
