Karen Georgijewitsch Schachnasarow ( Russian Карен Георгиевич хахназаров , born July 8, 1952 in Krasnodar ) is a Russian film director , producer and screenwriter . Schachnasarow has been the general director of Mosfilm since 1998 .

biography

Karen Georgievich Schachnasarow was born on July 8, 1952 in Krasnodar . His father Georgi Schachnasarow (1924-2001) was of Armenian descent, his mother Anna Schachnasarowa (born 1928) is Russian.

In 1975 he graduated from the directing department of the Gerasimov Institute for Cinematography . His specialty was film directing. His graduation film was "Shire Shag, Maestro!" (Go faster, maestro). 1973–1974 he was an assistant director at Mosfilm. From June to October 1975 he was a director at Mosfilm. From October 1975 to November 1976 he was in the army, then again the Mosfilm director. In 1984 he became managing director at Mosfilm.

In 1998 he was appointed General Manager of Mosfilm.
