Kari Kahl-Wolfsjäger (born 1942 ) is a cultural journalist and director of music festivals with classical music.

biography

From Norway derived Kahl-Wolfsjäger studied musicology, German literature, art history and theater studies. She worked as a cultural journalist for Capital magazine for 16 years .

Since it was founded in 1986, she directed the Kissinger Sommer music festival until 2016, initially under the name Steff-Wolfsjäger . In addition, she was the founding director of the Kunstfest Weimar in 1990 and 1991, three times the Beethovenfest in Bonn (Beethoven Marathon) and four times the Festival Alpen-Klassik in Bad Reichenhall . From her commitment to the Beethovenfest in Bonn, to whose rescue she helped with the Beethoven Marathon , which she directed in 1995, 1996 and 1998, the idea of ​​a Beethoven Festival in Krakow arose , which she organized for the first time together with Krzysztof Penderecki in 1997. She worked in Bad Reichenhall from 2004 to 2007. From 2003 to 2016 she was also the artistic director of the Kissinger Piano Olympics . Since 2017 she has been heading the Stars & Rising Stars festival in Munich .
