Karim Maamoun ( Arabic كريم مأمون, DMG Karīm Maʾmūn ; Born November 18, 1979 ) is an Egyptian tennis player .

Career

Karim Maamoun played professional tournaments from 1998. In 1999 he was able to reach his first final on the ITF Future Tour , on which he mainly played. In doubles, he also won his first title there, followed by two more titles in 2000. In each case, he was in the top 400 of the world rankings , and in doubles he even reached his career high with 325th place.

In the individual he was in the final four more times until 2004, but never won the title. At the Challenger in Doha he came against Łukasz Kubot to his first match success on this level. In 2006 and 2007 once and three times in 2008, the Egyptian only lost in the final of a future. In 2009 Maamoun achieved an increase in performance. He made it to the finals of eight futures, and he was victorious in five of them. After another tournament victory at the beginning of 2010, he rose to rank 283 in the world rankings, his best value. He had his only appearance on the ATP Tour in 2010 in Doha , when he again clearly lost to Kubot with 0: 6 and 2: 6. In 2011 he ended his career after less good results and injuries.

Between 1998 and 2010 Karim Maamoun played in 31 matches for the Egyptian Davis Cup team , for which he has a record of 30:31. He also won the bronze medal at the African Games in doubles in 2011 and silver in doubles in 2007 .
