Karin Achatz

Karin Achatz (born February 23, 1944 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Karin Achatz attended elementary school, secondary school and commercial school. From 1961 to 1973 she worked as an employee in a construction company. She then worked as a housewife until 1977 and in the office of the SPÖ district organization Klagenfurt / Stadt until 1980. In 1981 she became the state secretary for the Carinthian Children's Friends .

In 1985 she was elected to the Klagenfurt City Council, of which she was a member until 1986. From October 1986 to April 1989 she was a member of the Federal Council . Since 1989 she has been a member of the Carinthian Parliament , 1989/1990 first President of the Parliament . As a regional councilor , she was a member of the Haider I regional government from November 1990 as the successor to the resigned Josef Koschat and of the Zernatto I and Zernatto II regional government until April 1999.
