Karin Dörre (born May 30, 1964 in Peine , Lower Saxony ) is a German painter . She participates as a juror in exhibitions of contemporary artists . She lives in Mülheim an der Ruhr , her studio is in Düsseldorf .

biography

Karin Dörre began painting at a young age, worked in an art dealership in Düsseldorf during her school days, where she a. a. was employed in painting restoration and as a portrait painter. After graduating from high school, she completed an apprenticeship in an architecture office. After an artistic break, she began exhibiting in 2005 and has since taken part regularly in exhibitions at home and abroad.

She is a member of several Düsseldorf art associations and has been a board member of the Düsseldorf BBK since 2010 .

Dörre works with oil and acrylic paint on canvas, draws with pen and ink, graphite, chalk and watercolors. In addition to producing small objects from a mix of materials, she works as a book illustrator and experimental photographer. Using a projector, your photographs are alienated and integrated into the painting; Relationships and perspectives arise through the contrast of the different representations; through the use of the photos a dialogue takes place.
