Karin Gündisch
Karin Gündisch (born April 5, 1948 in Cisnădie (Heltau), Romania ) is a German children's and youth writer from the German-speaking minority of the Transylvanian Saxons .
Life
Karin Gündisch studied German and Romance languages at the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj (Klausenburg, Romania) and the University of Bucharest (Romania). She worked as a German teacher in Bucharest and was also a freelancer for the Romanian-German press , radio and television. During that time she published children's stories and worked on German textbooks.
Since 1984 she has lived as a freelance writer in the Federal Republic of Germany , initially for many years in Bad Krozingen and since 2018 in Hamburg. She spends the summer months mostly in Cisnădioara (Michelsberg), Romania. Her books have been translated into English, French, Romanian, Japanese, Korean, Croatian and Slovenian.
