Karin Johannsen-Bojsen

Karin Johannsen-Bojsen (born July 25, 1936 in Flensburg ) is a writer. She is a member of the Danish minority in southern Schleswig .

Life

Karin Johannsen-Bojsen was born as the child of the rum manufacturer and wine merchant Otto Johannsen and his wife Mary Johannsen. In 1954 she graduated from the Danish grammar school in Flensburg. Since the Danish Abitur was not recognized in Germany at that time for political reasons ( politics of small needle pricks ), she completed a German evening high school in Hamburg and then studied German, Danish and English at various universities (including Heidelberg and Copenhagen ). In 1965 she completed her doctoral thesis at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and in 1966 was employed as a teacher at the Danish grammar school in Flensburg. Since then she has been writing novels, also for magazines and collections, including time-critical articles.

Karin Johannsen-Bojsen is active in media and local politics for the South Schleswig voter association (SSW) in Flensburg. She is a member of the cultural association of the Danish minority ( Südschleswigscher Verein ), representative of the Danish minority at ZDF and lives in Flensburg.

Works

The focus of her novels is the relationship between German and Danish in the border region and the examination of their own South Schleswig or Danish identity.
