Karin Rossley

Karin Roßley , b. Rule, now married Pessier (born April 5, 1957 in Cottbus ) is a German athlete who - starting for the GDR - was successful in the 400-meter hurdles in the 1970s .

In 1977 Rossley set a world record for the first time over the long hurdles in 55.63 s. In 1978 she was second at the GDR championships behind Anita Weiß . At the European Championships in Prague in 1978 , the 400-meter hurdles race was held for the first time at major championships. Tatjana Selenzowa from the Soviet Union won with a new world record of 54.89 s ahead of Silvia Hollmann in 55.14 s and Roßley with a new GDR record of 55.36 s. In 1980 it improved the world record a second time, on May 18 it ran 54.28 seconds in Jena.

Karin Roßley belonged to the sports club SC Cottbus . During her competition time she was 1.68 m tall and 59 kg heavy.
