Karin Roth (born January 6, 1951 ) is a Thuringian singer and interpreter of folk music .

Life

Karin Roth, who came into contact with house music at an early age through her father, the composer and interpreter of folk music Herbert Roth , received accordion lessons for five years from 1959 .

After finishing school, she learned the hairdressing trade like her father. From 1975 she received singing lessons at the Meininger Theater . After passing the exam and having a professional ID for entertainers in the GDR, she worked as a freelance singer.

From 1980 to 1983 Karin Roth was a member of the instrumental group Herbert Roth and its singing partner in live and TV appearances. She was on tour with her Ensemble Suhler Bergmusikanten from 1984 to 1994, then performed with a solo program and singing partner until 2000 and has been mainly soloing again since 2000. Her first book was published in 2006, and in July 2010 she celebrated her 30th stage anniversary.

Karin Roth has made it her business to preserve and cultivate her father's musical legacy. In addition to the traditional songs of her father, her repertoire also includes numerous new musically and lyrically demanding tracks in the current hit sound. She is active in the Herbert Roth Circle of Friends and, together with other Suhl citizens, is committed to the city's zoo.
