Säterkvist, who started for Kvarnsvedens IF , had her first international success at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1992 in Vuokatti . There she won the bronze medal over the classic 5 km and with the relay. She made her debut in the World Cup at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville . There she finished 34th place over 5 km classic, 30th place in the pursuit and seventh place with the relay. Her best placings at the 1997 Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim were 32nd place in the pursuit and ninth place in the relay. In March 1997 she got her only World Cup points in Falun with the 27th place over 5 km freestyle. Her best results at the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano in February 1998 were 25th place over 15 km classic and eighth place with the relay. She completed her 17th and last individual World Cup race in March 1999 in Falun, which she finished classically in 33rd place over 15 km. She won the Swedish championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998 with the Kvarnsvedens relay.
