Karin Seehofer
Karin Gabriele Seehofer , née Stark (* April 1958 ), is the second wife of the former Bavarian Prime Minister and current Federal Minister of the Interior, Horst Seehofer .
Career
After finishing school, she completed an apprenticeship as an administrative clerk at the Eichstätt District Office . There she met Horst Seehofer, the head of the department at the time, whom she married in December 1985. The marriage had three children.
Public appearances at the side of her husband, who acted as Federal Minister, were initially rare. When he was Bavarian Prime Minister from 2008 to 2018, Karin Seehofer took on numerous representative tasks. She was the patron of several institutions in the social and charitable field.
Honors
The Friends of the Frigate Bavaria awarded her her first honorary membership on July 15, 2010. The new orchid variety "Phalaenopsis Karin Seehofer" has had her name since 2010. Another orchid variety "Phalaenopsis Karin Gabriele Seehofer" was named after its full name on the occasion of the Neu-Ulm Orchid Days in 2012. The Friends of Thomas Wiser Haus e. V. Regenstauf awarded Karin Seehofer her first honorary membership on September 27, 2013 in the Prinz-Carl-Palais in Munich.
