Karl-Friedrich Wessel (born September 26, 1954 in Stemwede ) is a former German football player .

Career

The defender Wessel played two Bundesliga games for Werder Bremen in the 1977/78 season , in which he did not score. For the 1978/79 season he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for VfL Osnabrück , where he immediately became a regular player. By the end of the 1983/84 season he played 195 second division games for the purple-whites, in which he scored three goals. He then played for TuS Stemwede and SpVg Beckum .

Between 2009 and 2011 Wessel coached SV Rödinghausen and led the team from the district league A to the regional league Westphalia .

Private

His son Michael Wessel (born July 15, 1987) is also a soccer player and is under contract with BSV Rehden .
