Karl-Heinz Becker (* 9. November 1943 in Großräschen ) is a former German football player in the defense . He played for the BSG Energie Cottbus and the BSG Stahl Riesa in the GDR league .

Career

In his youth, Becker played for his home club BSG Aufbau Großräschen before joining ASK Vorwärts Cottbus for a year in 1965 . In 1966, the newly founded BSG Energie Cottbus signed him for the second-rate GDR league . During this time he often played in the starting XI. Before he moved to BSG Stahl Riesa in 1970 , he had 101 league games and one goal. Becker stayed in Riesa for two years, played two league games in the major league and then returned to BSG Energie Cottbus. He stayed there until 1979; with the exception of a short stay at BSG Lokomotive Cottbus from April to June 1976. During this time he completed 131 league games and scored four goals. 1972/73 Becker finished second in season B with Cottbus at the end of the season. Nevertheless, the team were allowed to take part in the promotion round because Berlin's FC Dynamo II was not allowed to move up despite first place as the second team. In the promotion round, BSG Energie Cottbus came second behind BSG Stahl Riesa and thus rose to the GDR league . But after only one season, Energie Cottbus came down from last place with just one win. With Cottbus he came to the FDGB Cup in the 1973/74 season to the semi-finals, where they had to admit defeat to FC Carl Zeiss Jena because the second leg was lost 7-1. After his time at Energie Cottbus, Becker moved to the lower-class TSG Saspow in 1980 , where he worked as a player-coach.
