Karl-Heinz Breier

Karl-Heinz Breier (* 1957 ) is a German political scientist and university lecturer in political science .

Breier studied political science, education and philosophy in Munich and Augsburg . He was a scholarship holder of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and from 1987 to 1994 research assistant in political science at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg . In 1992 he received his doctorate from this university with a thesis on Hannah Arendt . From 1995 to 2002 he worked at the Technical University of Munich and then as an assistant at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel , where he qualified as a professor in the field of political education and political ideas. His habilitation thesis was awarded the Wolf-Erich-Kellner Prize in 2001. From 2002 to 2004 he was a private lecturer and senior research assistant for economics / politics and their didactics in Kiel. Between 2002 and 2006 he represented professorships at the Universities of Kiel, Bonn and Erfurt . From 2007 he managed the professorship for political science and its didactics at the University of Vechta. Since 2009 he has been professor for didactics in the social sciences, with a focus on political education, at the University of Vechta .
