Karl-Heinz Walkhoff (born February 26, 1936 in Habighorst ) is a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Walkhoff was born the son of a businessman. After graduating from high school, he studied history, German and Slavic studies at the Free University of Berlin and the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster . He finished his studies in 1964 with the first state examination and in 1967 with the second state examination for higher education. He then entered the school service, worked as a teacher and was most recently appointed senior teacher. In addition to his job, he was the founding president of the Society for the Promotion of Relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Soviet Union.

Political party

Walkhoff has been a member of the SPD since 1965. From 1971 to 1975 he was chairman of the SPD city association of Münster.

MP

Walkhoff was a councilor for the city ​​of Münster from 1969 to 1972 . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1976 and from December 31, 1978, when he replaced the deceased Member of Parliament Adolf Scheu , until 1980. He was always drawn into parliament via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was also a member of the European Parliament from 1973 to 1977 .
