Karl Amon (politician)

Karl Amon (born January 11, 1920 in Kollmitzberg ; † June 13, 1995 ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 1969 to 1983 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament . From 1965 he was mayor of Kollmitzberg and from 1971 to 1989 he was mayor of Ardagger .

Life

Karl Amon graduated from elementary and secondary school and was a farmer in Kollmitzberg . From 1939 to 1946 he did his military service and was a British prisoner of war. In 1955 he became a member of the municipal council, in 1960 deputy mayor and in 1965 mayor in Kollmitzberg. After the municipal consolidation, he was mayor of Ardagger from 1971 to 1989 . In 1965 he became chairman of the district chamber of farmers, he also had other functions in peasant and trade union organizations and was awarded the professional title of economics council.

In the course of the state elections in Lower Austria in 1969 , Karl Amon was elected to the state parliament of Lower Austria , where he was at the beginning of the IX. Legislative period starting in November 1969 as deputy sworn was. After the state elections in Lower Austria in 1983 , he left the state parliament in November 1983.

Karl Amon died in 1995 at the age of 75.
