Karl Bach (fencer)

Karl Helmut Bach (born October 21, 1920 in Neunkirchen , † October 1, 1993 in Homburg ) was a German fencer who competed for the Saarland .

Career

Karl Bach took part in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki for Saarland . He competed with both the foil and the saber in the individual and team competition, but did not get beyond the first round in any competition. Between 1953 and 1955 he took part in several world championships .

Bach has been fighting for MTV Neunkirchen since 1936 , where he worked as a club trainer from 1948 to 1965 and as a fencing teacher from 1965 to 1975. At the Saarland Championships he won bronze twice and silver three times. His wife Ilse Bach was also a fencer at the national level.
