Karl Bartel

Karl Bartel (born August 6, 1936 ; † unknown) was a German motorboat racing driver and lived in Berlin . He began his sporting career in 1958 with go-kart racing , but was unable to achieve any notable successes in three years. In 1968 he switched to motorboat racing. In 1973, together with other racing boat drivers, including Dieter König , Hans-Georg Krage and Kurt Mischke , he founded the Motor-Rennboot-Club Berlin e. V. and became a sports warden there.

Sporting successes

Bartel drove almost exclusively in the racing boat class OA with outboards up to 250 cm³. In 1974 he started as the only one with a proprider in the catamaran class OE (up to 850 cm³), qualified in German races for participation in the European championship and won the title there against international competition.
