Karl Barthold Lindahl

Karl Barthold Lindahl (born June 18, 1861 in Gothenburg , Västergötland , † December 4, 1895 ibid) was a Swedish portrait painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Lindahl studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1883 to 1886 . There were Heinrich Lauenstein and Hugo Crola his teachers. He married Elna, the daughter of the Düsseldorf-based Swedish genre painter Bengt Nordenberg . He portrayed his father-in-law in 1886. In 1892 he donated the picture to the Gothenburg Art Museum. Lindahl's artistic work flagged early due to an illness from which he died at the age of 34.
