Caribbean Premier League 2017
The Caribbean Premier League in 2017 was the fifth season of the Twenty20 - Cricket championship and was held from August 4 to 9 September 2017th In addition to the cricket stadiums in the Caribbean, matches were also played in Lauderhill in the United States . In the final, the Trinbago Knight Riders were able to prevail against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots with 3 wickets.

Six franchises took part in the tournament this season. In addition to their home stadiums, four preliminary round matches were held in Lauderhill, Florida in the USA. The playoffs were held at the Brian Lara Stadium in San Fernando , Trinidad .

In the preliminary round, each of the six teams plays two games against each other. In principle, one home and one away game is played, with individual games taking place on a neutral pitch. There are two points for a win, one for a draw or no result . The four best placed in the group then qualify for the play-offs that are held in the page playoff system .
Trivia
New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum reached the 8,000 T20 run mark in the 7th CPL match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaica Tallawahs. He is only the second batsman, after Chris Gayle , to have succeeded.
The all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite ( St Kitts and Nevis Patriots ) played with a red cricket bat.
Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan ( Guyana Amazon Warriors ) managed the first hat trick in the history of the Caribbean Premier League.
