Caribbean Premier League 2020

The Caribbean Premier League 2020 is the eighth season of the Twenty20 - Cricket championship in the West Indies and will take place from 18 August to 10 September 2020th

prehistory

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the games were played exclusively in Trinidad and Tobago. International players were obliged to arrive with charter flights two weeks before the start of the tournament, as the government in Trinidad and Tobago denied other routes. The players had to go into self-isolation two weeks before arrival and were only allowed to leave the hotel for the games during the tournament.

format

In the preliminary round, each of the six teams plays two games against each other. There are two points for a win, one for a draw or no result . The four best placed in the group then qualified for the semi-finals, the winners of which contest the final.
