Karl Baum (actor)

Karl Baum ( December 16, 1829 in Holland - November 15, 1888 in Warmbeck ) was a German theater actor , singer and comedian .

Life

Baum entered the stage for the first time on September 16, 1847 as "Walter's trainee lawyer". Then he came to the court theater in Dresden, where he stayed for a year, and from there to Bonn, Cologne, Königsberg, Berlin (Friedrich-Wilhelmstadt), Stettin, Munich, Vienna (Karltheater), Hanover, where he was excellent as a youthful lover and nature boy worked. In 1857 he was hired to Hamburg, where he worked continuously until 1882, namely until 1880 in the Thaliatheater, then in the city theater.

In Hamburg he mainly played bon vivants, but also excelled as a character actor. Later he played the comic singing roles in the farce and the bon vivant in comedy.
