Karl Berthold Hofmann

Karl Berthold Hofmann (born September 5, 1842 in Zdounek , Moravia , † August 2, 1922 in Graz ) was an Austrian chemist and physician .

Life

Hofmann received his doctorate in 1866 at the medical faculty of the University of Vienna , then worked in an insane asylum and qualified as a professor in 1869. In 1873 he became associate professor for physiological and pathological chemistry and in 1879 full professor for applied medicinal chemistry at the University of Graz , where he was rector from 1898–1899 also was. His estate is in the possession of the Graz University Library .
